Mine does the same thing. However I noticed this with the previous gen Magic Keyboard as well, so this is the expected behavior.

OP, how do you feel about its sturdiness? I'm thinking about picking one up, but I've seen some posters and a YouTube mention that the keyboard tends to waddle due to how the hinge is on this keyboard model.

This is a far as mine bends without the iPad attached to the Magic Keyboard, when holding the folio like the OP. Note it has not gotten a lot of use. So I do not know if over time it would match what the OP is experiencing.

It's a design flaw, the old one didn't open like a MacBook, this New one opens way too much
