is this normal? (Quad takes over a minute to light up)

my Quad takes like over a minute for the screen to light up...and before it actually lights up, the fans turn on full blast, for about 5 sec. Then, it speedly goes through the start up/login. It has 2.5 gigs of ram...

Anyone know anything related to this?

Yes this is normal, it's running system tests and such during that time.

thanx...i feel better cuz i thought these machines were suppose to take a short amount of time for start up...seeing how speedy it's suppose to be.

yeah... my quad take a few seconds before the white screen lights up too
during this time the fan is run louder then usual

i think it's normal for Quad to take this long for start-up
