Is it normal for the iPhone 12 screen to get darker outsider on sunny days, even with auto brightness turned off?

Don’t think your screen is getting darker, any screen in direct sunlight will be harder to see, turn up your brightness 😁👉📱
 
It could be overheating which will cause it to dim the display. It doesn't have to be super hot, direct sunlight is a killer on phones.
