I found a can of soup that had fallen between our fridge and the counter, and it says "Best use by November 2003"

Doesn't sound very good. I was wondering if this would kill me?

There are potentially lethal bacteria that can reproduce anaerobically and seeing as that is 4 years past best before date anyway I wouldn't.

When I was clearing out the freezer recently we found a frozen fish that was best before 1985 and we had even moved house with it.

i would not eat it. theres a reason for those dates lol. ands its been over 4 years. is a llittle food worth the potentially getting really sick?

I wouldn't... that could get you quite sick.

If you'd eaten it already I'd be saying don't worry, there's little chance it isn't safe. Most probrably it would be just as good as any other frozen soup.

But seeing as you haven't...well, best not to risk it.

I would've eaten it right away, but the slight amount of rust on the top of the can made me suspicous.😀

If you've ever had a case of food poisoning, you'd never take chances again. Learn from someone else's mistake--don't eat the soup!
