Just opened my new mac and I thought that the number of processors would be 2 with two cores however when I open System Profiler I'm presented with the following:

Hardware Overview:

Model Name: MacBook
Model Identifier: MacBook3,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1:confused:
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Bus Speed: 800 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MB31.008D.B00
SMC Version: 1.24f2
Serial Number: W87441H9Z66
Sudden Motion Sensor:
State: Enabled

Can anyone confirm if this is correct?

That's correct. The Core2 Duo is basically two processors on a single chip - therefore the system sees it as a single processor.

Thanks to you both. Just wanted to check:)

I don't suppose either of you know why my contacts don't get synced from .mac to my new mac? They work on my old mac and are visible on my .mac account online?

Its correct unless you have the sorta-rare Quad Core macbook that everyone's been jiving about.
