I ran a disk verify today and my volume header needs minor repair, is this critical, or can it wait if I forget to find my osx disk tonight??

There is always a minor something found in disc utility. It is nothing to worry about.

Volume header needing minor repair is not a big deal at all. Just do it with the discs when you get the chance. The sooner the better maybe, but a few hours or days from now isn't the end of the world. It'll be fine.
