Hi

I would like to know if the version I have of Sierra is actually the latest.

I am not sure if the GM build actually says GM in the About section, which is why I am asking.

Version 10.12 Beta (16A313a)

Thank you!

I believe 16A319 or 16A320 is the latest version, depending on if you have the Developer GM or the Public RC.

Under MacOS Sierra mine simply says Version 10.12
No reference to Beta or build number.

Under system profiler, software summary I have.

System Software Overview:

System Version: macOS 10.12 (16A319)

Kernel Version: Darwin 16.0.0

Boot Volume: Macintosh HD

Boot Mode: Normal

Computer Name: Manny’s MacBook Pro

Version 10.12 Beta (16A313a)

Thank you!
Build 16A322 was released to developers just the other day.

Build 16A322 is the latest was released yesterday on the apple developer site. It is named "GM Seed".

16A322 is also what shows up in the App Store if you signed up on the beta site to receive the GM. In the Purchased list, there is macOS Sierra and macOS Sierra Public Beta.

If you have 16A320, delete the 'install macOS Sierra' and redownload, you will get 16A322.

I seem to remember in the past Apple pulling something similar where they released a newer build to devs, but wimped out and passed off an earlier build as the 'official' GM.

I'll update to 16A322, as was mentioned before it'll probably be updateable down the line to 10.12.1 anyways.

Yeah, I am in the process of downloading the newest version (I hope) from the App Store at the moment. I am getting some really unstable speeds from the App Store, though, for some reason.

EDIT: Okay, it worked.

System Software Overview:

System Version: macOS 10.12 (16A322)

Kernel Version: Darwin 16.0.0

Thank you guys!

I could swear I saw somewhere that the only difference between 16A320 and 16A322 is that Apple Watch wakeup now functions as expected.

Chapeau to this thread's tip on the newer build. I had the 319 Build on a rMBP and was seeing screen redraw issues in several apps, including Safari in Reading Mode (see scaled-down attached screen shot taken on an external display in Portrait orientation: inverted, changed color, missing Window elements, missing Menu Bar).

Installed the 322 Build over 319 and no more issues. :knocking on wood:

I have 16A320 (dev centre when GM first launched). At first, Apple Watch unlock wouldn't work since two factor wouldn't setup. It has randomly started working, and the watch unlock now works fine on 16A320.

So I suspect 16A322 was a patch to try to get the watch functionality working, then they found whatever was causing the issue server-side.

Haven't had a single issue with 16A320, even upgraded my daily driver to it.

I just downloaded the macOS Sierra installer from the App Store to update my build from 16A320 -> 16A322 and ended up with 16A323 so it would appear there's a new GM build.

Public Beta.. from the code I received and redeemed on September 8th.

Guys - dumb question but, is the latest beta version the same as the latest GM release? I have had my MacBook on the beta releases all the way through but left the 5k iMac on El Cap. I then updated the iMac to the GM release, and having downloaded the installer tried to use it to also update my MacBook. The installer runs seemingly perfectly but I am left with the same beta (16A313a) version... I was expecting to see the same GM (not beta) indication under 'about this Mac'...

I will download the latest Beta version (which I gather from here is 16A323) for the time being...

The public release is in two days. 16A323 is the latest GM bundle. There wasn't a delta upgrade made available via the App Store, so you would need to do a full upgrade over your existing installation to get to that latest bundle (but, again, you get the public release in two days - you may as well wait) :)

I downloaded and installed the latest version of Sierra from the App Store but for some reason I can no longer fine the installer in the Applications folder. Am I missing something? I'd really like to have it on a bootable USB flash drive for the future.

The installer file is deleted from the Applications folder after you install it. To keep the installer, you should have moved or copied it out of the Applications folder and then run the install. You will have to download it again to create a bootable USB flash drive.

You're not missing anything. It deletes itself during install. You'll have to download it again (and when 10.13 rolls around remember to archive the installer before you install ;))

Thank you for your replies, guys. I am currently re-downloading it and will make a bootable flash drive using it.
