I’m in the car, listening to music on Apple Music. I liked the song and asked:

- Siri, tell me more about this song.
- I can search the web when you finish driving.
- Siri, no, ask ChatGPT about the song then.

(Something happening for a minute)

- ChatGPT asks what songs you want to know about?
- Didn’t you tell her the current song?
- I don’t understand.

This isn’t just Siri being useless. It’s Siri being maliciously harmful. Even because I got so annoyed I felt my blood boiling.

Has Apple ever been worse than that? I don’t remember, I’ve been an Apple user since 2010.

Not worse, just not improving. Your Siri experience is analogous to mine on different subjects. BUT, it’s trained me well in that I use it for less and less. Today, I hardly ever go beyond the simple temperature and humidity, asking to enable a Home automation, or the time, all of which it handles well most of the time. As soon as I hear “website” I know I’ve overstepped its boundaries and I go do something else. If I don’t, my irrational hate at an inanimate object begins to boil and I become even more unpleasant to those around me.

Come back in September when OS 27 is released. Siri is vastly improved as it is using Gemini at its core. Siri now is basically good for setting an alarm and that is just about it. It is light years better on the iPad OS27 beta. I still prefer ChatGPT but this is a very noticeable usable improvement.

My rock bottom would be asking an 'assistant' about a song. Then becoming upset when the reply doesn't suit me.
Why? Do you happen to recognize all the music in the world and know everything about all bands?

The track in question was something offered by Apple Music after it finished playing an album. I didn’t even know what band that was or the track name. I was driving, so I asked Siri to tell me.

My personal rock bottom would be being snarky towards people on the Internet just because they said something bad about a company.

I just learned to not use Siri over the years and do everything myself.
I also prefer to ignore the inferior Siri.
It's hopeless. I have little faith in the future Siri, but I have heard -some- good things.
Not completely hopeless perhaps, but not worth wasting one’s time.

At this point even the slightest improvement would allow Apple to brag, but I simply don’t care.

Usually wind up hearing a song again, after noticing it the first time.

I've never used a digital assistant, so have low expectations in that department. Having expectations leads to disappointment.

Honestly have no loyalty to any electronics company. Its about choosing the one thats currently the least annoying.

Siri in its current incarnation is not AI, it responds to pre-programmed queries, if you don't ask your question in the exact manner, it simply refuses to go further, unlike Google, which can fill out mis-spoken words. Apple better get its act together otherwise is gonna be another map failure.
