Mid 2009 MacBook Pro...wondering if this is too hot, considering lately its felt extremely hot to the touch on the bottom.

@ the library today it said the CPU was at 210*F; at least, that's what I think it said. :eek:

(Gets most hot when playing a movie either through web browser or iTunes)

When the CPU is under load, it's normal that is gets around 80C/175F. 210F is pretty hot but I wouldn't be worried

It should ramp up the Fans when it gets above 75-80C and if it is above 90C and the FANs are not already on full speed I would be worried. And if it reaches 100 C with FANs at full speed it sound like the cooling system is not very good and might need some reapplying of thermal paste.

its fine, my Harddrive temps read 125 degrees Celcius xD all day errday, no big deal.

Mine (Mid 2010 13") peaks around 175* or 180* F in my uses.
You can download smcfancontrol and bump up the fan speed when you want it to run cooler if it hasn't sped up the fans on its own.
