I would never get a machine with a fusion drive. A pure SSD and especially the SSD's in the recent Mac's are a HUGE upgrade in speed. They make quite a difference in the overall feeling of how snappy the system is.
I would look at the 2020 iMac instead. All processors in the 2020 version has hyper threading enabled, which older versions only had in the i9 processors.

do the 2020 ones have soldered memory
Nope, user replaceable as ever.

I would agree with mlykke, never get a Fusion Drive. It's more HDD than it is SSD. Far more, in fact.

I have a 2017 with 24GB RAM and a 512GB SSD that I am looking to sell...

They've got the tech specs wrong. Note that it's for a MacBook Pro, not an iMac. To get the actual tech specs, go to Apple.com where it clearly shows that it's user accessible:

You don't want to buy an iMac with a 1tb fusion drive and then "open it" to install a faster drive.

Get an iMac with an SSD "from the factory".
You won't regret it.

If money is a consideration, do they have an Apple online refurbished store there?

The iMac you posted in #5 above would be a far better choice.
I looked over the page at the URL you provided, and could not find any reference to how much RAM was in it.
I will guess that it comes with 8gb.
That's ok.
It's EASY to open the door on the back of a 27" iMac and install more RAM yourself.

BUT -- DON'T buy additional RAM until you've been using the iMac for a week or two (at least). It may run just fine with 8gb...

thanks for all the advice although it seemed a cheap way to get an iMac the fusion has put me off so wont be buying that one il keep my mac mini for a while longer.

FYI, you could always get that 2019 iMac if it's cheap enough and run it off an external NVMe USB 3.2 Gen 1 SSD instead of the internal Fusion Drive.
