Everyday I start my morning now asking this question? I pray a product person takes the helm soon.

With the liquid glass UI fiasco, Siri AI debacle, software bugs, decline of UX, wasted new product efforts, why hasn't the board pushed him out already?

Soon I hope. Sooner the better.

Luckily for Apple you have no say in the hiring or firing processes for C-level executives in the company. Apple is more profitable than ever, the Mac market has been steadily growing since the switch to Apple Silicon, and iPhone and iPad are still the leaders in their respective markets. Add in the growth on the services side, and it's hard to justify kicking Cook to the curb.

Jonny Ive is out, at least?

Lots of stuff for us "tech bros" to complain about, but overall Apple is doing fine. I don't think Cook's job is in danger. But I heard the rumors that he is looking to retire in the not-too-distant future and they are figuring out his successor. Won't have to wait forever.

guess we'll see how the negative sentiment and adoption rates for Tahoe and ios26 stack up. fwiw, I'm sure there's internal discussion and decisions about recent and ongoing blunders that will be coming to fruition this year. it doesn't take board membership to see the writing on the wall.

[update] kicking Tim to the curb is not the way this will unfold. he helped Apple achieve some accomplishments that warrant a soft kumbaya exit but he's just no longer the right person to keep driving. Ops folks just aren't product folk which is what's needed at this moment once more.

Dye being gone is the best news I've seen recently.
