My friend has a iMac running Sierra. He wants to burn DVDs. We tried Toast Titanium 15 in the past. No luck. Is this new version 16 compatible and stable? Anyone who can confirm this? It's Black Friday and Toast and Default Folder together can be bought for only 30 dollars.
Thanks.

I'm using Toast 15 on a cMP 5,1 running Sierra and it is working perfectly. I've used it many times, and would assume Toast 16 will work as well. Maybe your friend has other issues preventing it from running. Whenever I purchase a version of Toast, I get it directly from the Roxio site and always opt for the version on disc.

My friend bought Toast 16. After installing he started the application and got the message:
"Couldn't successfully startup or quit the application because of a Mac OS Error"
Result code = -1743388673
The application hangs and is unusable. :(
I tried to help him by deleting all the roxio and toast files with EasyFind and reinstalling.
The same thing happened again and I deleted the Roxio and Toast files for the second time.
Then I created a new user and tried to install the application again.
For the third time we got the error message. But this time Toast didn't hang and was able to burn an avi movie. However there is no sound...
What a mess...

I've been using different versions of Toast for about 20 years and on different Macs with several different OS's. I have never had any proplems installing or using it. Perhaps your friend has other problems in his system. Toast is made for Macs.

In the past, with versions from 6 to 12, I didn't have any problems either. But this version 16 is buggy. I tried it on my own MacPro and I get an installation error too. The software seems to work but the picture quality leaves a lot to be desired. The movies are jolting (stuttering) on my Mac Pro.
Or is this because of my videocard, the ATI Radeon 5870? (I didn't try it on my other MacPro with a Geforce 980.) Would it be better if we buy the blu-ray plugin?

Did you download the software or get it on a disk? I've got Toast 15 Pro so have not bothered to get Toast 16

We downloaded the software from the Roxio Toast website. We got the serial number and the download link from the Black Friday deal from 9to5 Toys. My friend and I bought both a copy.
I have tried it on my second MacPro with Geforce 980 and CUDA and it is faster. But the stuttering video remains.
