Is Walkie Talkie more reliable in WatchOS7?

Question for those of you on the beta. Does the Walkie Talkie app work reliably yet?
It's something I'd like to use in certain occasions, but it is so inconsistent when it comes to actually connecting to someone that I just never use it.

Walkie Talkie could’ve been a cool feature but its development was almost immediately abandoned. most people I know with Apple Watches don’t even know it exists

I've used it once or maybe twice to try it, but never found a practical use for it. I don't think Apple cares much about this feature anymore, sadly.
