Is whatsapp web buggy on Mac Safari ?

Im using Whatsapp on iPhone 6+ and Macbook Pro.
I see the whatsapp web stops receiving messages when the iPhone is locked.
I have to unlock the phone every second to continue receiving messages.

Is this an bug with Whatsapp app ?
