I can confirm that from my unlocked AT&T-issued iPhone 4S running iOS 7 Beta 4 that FaceTime Audio works well over AT&T 3G to an unlocked AT&T-issued iPhone 4 running iOS 7 Beta 4, both on unlimited data plans.
I see that, eventually, cell phone providers will eventually just be internet connection providers, providing mobile service via current cell towers, as the traditional phone call will become obsolete. It may take some time, and some universal communication compatibility standards between phone makers, but, it will happen.
I am never connected to WiFi, it definitely works over data.
There's wifi calling, this term is used in windows phone and u can have it in low end phone like Lumia 521 and this wifi calling is equivalent to FaceTime Audio in iOS 7
Ive read sites reporting wifi calls should be supported but honestly i think they all just have it confused with FaceTime audio.
i, and i presume op, am AMAZED at how many people here have no idea what wifi calling is.
Perhaps because it is limited to a singular US carrier and easily conflated with any number of things could be called "wifi calling". Stop being a condescending prick.![]()
Telling you to stop your condescending behaviour is not the same as an ad hominem there my kettle bro.it's real easy to call people names behind the relative anonymity of the internet, isn't it?
This. Wifi calling as stated on the T-mobile website has never been announced as an iOS 7 feature.
Furthermore it was specifically mentioned in the keynote that FaceTime Audio calling would be WiFi only. If that's different right now in the betas it's news to me.
