iSight with mac mini or anything will do?

Hello all, I have a mac mini core solo and also have a 20inch cinema display (the one with no camera) and I want to add a webcam onto it. Now do I have to use the apple iSight or can I use any old webcam to go with it? Thank you, bye

Here's a good list of UVC compatible webcams that work with the Mac.

I personally use an iSight, but other cameras do work. They have to be USB UVC compatible, or there won't be a driver available to get it working right.

I use the Logitech Quickcam 9000 pro, it might be outdated by now but I think its really good quality and it has a nice quality mic right on it. I got it for $70 about a year ago so it should be fairly low price by now, and you should definitly be able to do skype and ichat, but make sure any cam that you gets works with both apps, sometimes the compatibility differs with each app you use.
