isn't there a hack that fakes the iOS version?

I'm still on the original 4.0 and the 8mm recorder app requires 4.2 or whatever. I thought there was a hack that lets you fake your iOS version. anybody recall the name of it?

There is probably a reason it requires 4.2 and it likely will not work on 4.0
