just noticed on iPad Air, and on iPhone 6s when you turn on Airplane mode you can still turn on wifi at the same time and have your device work. The Airplane mode will show the little plane in the corner but will still connect.
Anyone else notice this?

That's basically how it's always been and is that way by design.

Airplane mode Cuts off all LTE and service connectivity. Wifi works on its own entity. But overall, it's like this across Apple's product Line for the most part.

As said it's always been like this and I like it that way. Great for international travel when you just want to use wifi.
