first off I'm new to WoW, and I did search the forums, but did not find any answers to my question(s). So I apologize if this is a repeated thread.

I think the best way to word this is by pasting the email I sent to Blizzard:

Have you done the 10-day trial of BC? If so, you already have all that content installed on your computer, all you need to do is actually activate your account. It just means logging into your account on the WoW website, click on 'Upgrade Your Account' and enter the serial key that came with your purchased copy of BC.

That's my suspicion, off the top of my head. Just try upgrading your account on their website and see what happens, my guess is you already have that info installed.

The DVD that Wrath of the Lich King came on includes The Burning Crusade files. Go ahead and install LK and update the game to the latest patch (3.0.3 currently). Then, as Thraun said, log into the account manager at worldofwarcraft.com and upgrade your account.

yeah I've never played the trial. I haven't played WoW ever before. But I will try logging in and entering my activation key. The email I got back from Blizzard (I'm impressed, I thought I'd be waiting for days [hence my post here]) said that if I installed all the patches when I installed the original WoW disc, it would have also installed everything for Burning Crusade.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. I have Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King all installed and running now. Time for me to experience WoW for the first time
