Issue. please help

Hey all.

I jailbroke my verizon iphone with a tethered jail break because i was having tons of trouble with green poison, now itunes wont let me restore my phone to normal because of an error when i click restore/update that says, "software update server could not be contacted"...this has been going on for a few days now. i have a solid internet connection if that makes a difference in any help you can give me.

finally decided to join the forums after months of just following the site. thanks for all the great work on here

try holding the power + home button for a long long time until something happens.

Have you used tinyumbrella on that computer before or edited your hosts file to redirect to cydia?

i have tiny umbrella installed but no clue what to do with it..and never touch anything with hosts (idk what that really is) lol

Ok, open TU.
Then go to advance and UNCHECK the box "set hosts to cydia on exit"
Then on the bottom right click apply changes and then close TU.
Then open itunes and try restoring again.

I had a devil of a time getting off of greenpoison. Ended up totally restoring from a backup; after restoring to factory fresh 4.3.1 (I believe) I don't remember the details, but got a lot of warnings like it sounds like you are getting
I think I used recboot to get it into/out of recovery mode.

keep googling.

I'm JBn with redsnOw now on 4.3.3- it was quite easy.

thanks a lot. is there any way to jail break untethered without having to restore my phone and re-jailbreak? so i don't lose all that i've downloaded

Im not 100% sure if there is anything that does untethered 4.2.8 for mac.
