Hello!

I have disabled Facebook and Snapchat background app activity 3-4 days ago, however, it is still occurring. Anyone know how to fix this?

On a separate note, I feel that my battery is draining kinda quick. I read on a different thread that 11.2 is going to address some battery life concerns, does anyone know if this is true?

Thanks!

Facebook is a known battery hog.

If you turn off notifications for Facebook, this will basically stop. Facebook uses notifications to wake the app up even if you have background activity off I think. This is why Facebook is almost instantly up to date when you come back to the app.

Delete Facebook. Problem solved.

Thanks for the replies. It looks like snapchat is also doing this though, so I'm not sure why turning off background app activity for both these apps is not working. Location settings are both set for 'only when using the app'.

Background app refresh is just one aspect of background functionality. Apps have some ability to run in background in general unrelated to background app refresh, which is built-in into iOS and isn't controllable by end users. Most of the time that activity is limited to just a few minutes or so after you use the app, with some exceptions. If you don't want an app to potentially run in the background after you use it then you should manually close it.
