Issue with formatting mac hard drive

    Recently I decided to format my mac's hard drive because it just got cramped and slow. upon trying to format it i found that i couldnt actually select any of the options. How do i fix this?

    You can't initiate formatting of the same drive that you're currently booted from.

    Mac problems

    I tried to enter recovery mode and this happened, this symbol (enclosed photo) won't go away and I don't know what to do?

    Boot from your original media, format there and reinstall.
