I have a 6 TB external RAID-1 drive with loads of music and photographs (screen shot 1).

When I run "First Aid" in Disk Utility on "Content" I get a scary error message (screen shot 2).

If I click "Done" and run "First Aid" again it says everything is okay.

Anyone seeing the same behavior?

Thanks!

Nicholas

I suspect that the firmware (in the drive electronics) may be a little slow to respond to the unmount command issued by the Disk Utility first aid.
There's a variety of reasons that might result in a temporary failure to unmount the drive, and not by itself an indication of any serious issue with the drive.
Does the First Aid succeed the first time, if you unmount that drive manually before starting the test?
If that works OK, there is not likely anything to be too worried about.
(It's not like First Aid is something that you are going to run every day, so a quick work-around for an occasional test should give you a good result)

I think you may be right.

When I manually unmount the drive from Finder, First Aid works fine. I also noticed it takes a while to unmount, I wonder if Catalina just looses patience and errors.
