Hi all, I've been having some issues with the 3.5mm-to-lightning adaptor for my iPhone X. While connected to my headphones, the iPhone will occasionally fail to recognise them and only play sound out of its speakers. There seems to be no fault with the headphones themselves, as they work fine when connected to other sources. What could be the root cause of the problem and how, if possible, would I go about solving it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure that everything is securely plugged in.

However, the Apple supplied adaptor is on the fragile side: I had to replace the one that came with my day-one iPhone 8 after four months of use due to it acting up (short somewhere, most likely on the Lightning end).

For as cheap as the adapters are, why not simply replace it.
