Issue with Maps and Carplay in iOS 14 Beta 8...directions stop/goes back to Maps "start screen"

I noticed this initially in b7 (I think) but definitely in b8 - when I plug in my iphone for carplay and then pull up directions someplace in Apple Maps, it will route and then a few minutes later just stop giving directions and essentially just go back to the "start" screen in Maps and the directions disappear like a destination was never initiated. It seems ok if I use Google Maps. Not sure if it is limited to carplay but that is really the only time I use Apple Maps. Anyone seeing this issue or is it known? I didn't see anything exactly the same when I searched.

Yeah, I had to switch back to Google maps now.

Happened a couple of times to me but when i go back into Maps it straight away searches for the directions to the place i was going to and i just press Go again and it carries on. I use Maps via CarPlay pretty much every day and its only done it twice, maybe three times. I think it has done it if i've come out of Maps to go to Music and then try to go back to Maps.

Yes, that is when it has happened to me, I think. Although when I use my right turn signal, the camera display takes over the screen to see behind me on the right. Then, when I flip it off, it goes back to Carplay but automatically goes to music, not back to Maps. Then, when I go back to Maps its usually reset and I either have to tell Siri where I am going again or it will have to push go again if the address is still there.

My car doesnt do anything fancy like a camera when i turn a specific way so i've only seen it happen, not all time mind you, when i go to music then back to maps.

I noticed freezing issues with CarPlay but only if I was running the maps in the full screen mode; in other words - if it was that split screen mode with maps on the left and music / podcast on the right, the problem never happened. I filed an issue with Apple, they then asked for more logs, which I then also provided so... 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I reported my issue as well. No resposne.
