I have been running into a weird issue with my iPhone XS and iOS 13. In Photos, I keep getting the following error: Paused, not enough iPhone storage (for iCloud Photos). When I go check the storage of my phone, the math doesn’t seem to add up. I seem to have enough storage, but there seems to be something weird with my Message attachments.

Any ideas or solutions? I have already tried to reinstall my phone, from a backup and from scratch as well, doesn’t seem to solve it.

So nobody else seems to have seen this issue?

I just checked my iPad, which is signed into the same iCloud account with iCloud Messages enabled and there this issue does not pop up. The weird thing is, when I click to review the attachments there aren't even that many of them and they all seem to average out at 10mb, which would put it nowhere close to the states 20gb.

Having the exact same problem. No idea how to fix it!

I already tried deleting iMessage History (only saving 1 year now), restoring the iPhone from DFU Mode from backup and doing the same process again without a backup. NOTHING helps.

Glad to see I’m not the only one. I’m starting to think the only option would be to reset iMessages in iCloud, but it’s not something I want to do and lose all my past conversations.

Update: Since updating to 13.3 I have not encountered this issue yet. Looks like (hopefully) it was a bug with the previous versions.
