Hi,

I seem to be experiencing a weird glitch with my iPad Pro (2020) and the Files app.

I use Dropbox for a lot of my cloud storage (used it for years). Since moving to an iPad Pro workflow I have been copying over my important documents and folders from Dropbox to the native Files app.

This seemed to be going well until today when it started acting oddly.

Sometimes if a “Copy” a file or folder from Dropbox to the relevant folder in Files, it will just hang indefinitely with a spinning circle. If you leave it for 5-10 minutes the file disappears from Files and doesn’t copy over.

This didn’t happen previously and I had no issues until today.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Are the failed copies with large files or folders with many files? I've run into similar issues with the Files app when copying large files or a selection of many files.

Yes, but not huge amounts? Talking about maybe transferring/copying a folder containing 10-15 files (mainly admin stuff, so documents and PDFs) in it max from Dropbox to the Files app?

I thought it might of coped with that?

One thought - have you detached and reattached the DropBox service?

I’ve not tried that as yet. Have You had similar issues or tried that solution yourself?

Yeah, it should have worked. I just tested, copying one 20MB folder with 80 files in 39 subfolders and it worked fine. 2018 12.9 Pro, 13.4.1.

Thanks for the feedback and testing. Is this copying from the Dropbox app itself or from the link to Dropbox within the Files app?

Just trying to source the problem..

Thanks...perhaps unlinking and linking might solve it then?

Seems odd that it was working perfectly then just stopped copying properly...

If you select edit in Locations, there is a toggle for each location and I don't know if it does anything other than turn the display of Dropbox in Locations on or off (I tried it). I didn't see a way of totally removing it and re-adding it. It's worth a try as it doesn't have any negative effects.

Thanks! Will give that a shot later on. Fingers crossed it works and doesn’t mess up my connection...
