Issues, USB Turntable w/ Macbook Pro 16" (2019)

Hello all.

I'm trying to use my USB turntable w/ my MBP, (USB-A --> USB-C adapter), and I can only get audio to come out of the left channel only.
Is there a setting or something i'm missing to enable stereo recordings? (and not just left channel in both, [mono])

OR would it be better to try and find a RCA --> USB-C adapter, if that even exists.

First thing I'd try is A DIFFERENT USBa-->USBc adapter. The ones I prefer look like this:

If the turntable has RCA analog out as well, there are low-cost USB audio adapters/converters you can get. I believe Behringer (sp?) sells one.

My first though is that USB-C is reversible, but sometimes may not be wired correctly for both sides.
If you have not tried this, try inserting the USB-C connector upside-down.

Since this is the easiest method first.
I have another usb-a to usb-c adapter, i'll dig that out and try it, and also try the upsidedown on both adapters, just in case as well. I'll also try the other ports on the MBP as well. Before i buy a third adapter.

The RCA one could work, although i'd have to get a RCA female/female adapter as well to work with the one you sent the link for. (since output RCA are males)

I looked at the description, and couldn't find where it says it's an actual "adapter" that changes an analog output signal to digital input (I only skimmed the product description).

If you have one of those newfangled turntables the have built in electronics to give a USB output (as well as an analog one), I'm thinking that:
- the USB output provides a digital signal (of course)
and
- the RCA jack output provides an "old-fashioned" ANALOG output.

The cable above may have some kind of internal digital-analog converter. I did skim through the user reviews, and someone mentioned the cable "got hot" under usage.

If it was me, I'd look for a "standalone" analog-to-digital converter, such as this:

It is a turntable that has both USB & RCA outputs.

If i have it hooked up to my PC it does output stereo via the USB. But it's way more convenient to use my MBP, for recordings. Than my desktop.

I'll try the ideas given here this long weekend, and hopefully one of them will work, before i spend money on another adapter or connector.
