Here are some of the issues I've seen so far with the HooToo hub. My configuration is MBP 15" TB -> HooToo (for power + HDMI) and an external monitor (Dell 2405 FPW).
  • [NOT FIXED in Beta] Plugging in HooToo with HDMI occasionally doesn't extend the monitor (this works flawlessly on my old 2011 MBP so it may be just support for this monitor or HooToo or MBP). Need to unplug both the power and the HDMI cable to reset this.
  • [FIXED in Mac OS Sierra 10.12.2 Beta 6] Occasionally Mission Control stops giving me previews at the top. Only way to reset this is to put the system to sleep (I think) or reboot. See attached screenshot.
  • [NOT FIXED in Beta] Red progress bar on boot when connected to an external monitor
  • [NOT FIXED in Beta] Power through HooToo sometimes doesn't work, it gives me the charging sound over and over again (it looks like it charges, then disconnects, then charges again ... in a loop infinitely). To fix this, I have to unplug the USB-C going into HooToo and reconnect it back and sometimes also disconnect the USB-C going into the MBP.
Haven't tried USB-3 yet, but plan to at some point to transfer some photos.

UPDATE: Installed latest Mac OS Sierra 10.12.2 Beta 6 and see above for results.

I'm seeing the same thing in Mission Control after connecting my Apple Thunderbolt Display via Apple's TB3<->TB adaptor. Putting the machine to sleep doesn't fix it. In fact, it's still happening right now after disconnecting from the display and using the machine standalone at another location.

I just installed the latest Beta to see if this problem is fixed. Will update this thread if there's any improvement.

Unrelated: With the new Beta and FileVault on, I had been seeing artifacts every time I boot up on the lower part of the screen for a quick second. I no longer see that happening with the Beta.

I installed the latest Mac OS Sierra Beta 6 and there's fewer display related issues.

The red bar when you start your system when connected to an external display remains.
