I recently picked up a free Sony MultiscanG500 21" CRT from a relatives office that was clearing them out. I am very impressed with the quality with the display and it seems to have tons of settings to get a very respectable picture. However, I have one main problem with it. I reset the monitor settings and have the brightness turned all the way down on the monitor and have run the calibrating tool in the system prefs according to the instructions a few times and I can't seem to get a true black. Im not sure if thats normal with these monitors, I don't think theres anything wrong with it but the closest I can get is a dark gray, which is kind of annoying if your watching a dvd or somthing. I also tried using SuperCal which didn't seem to help. Any advice. Thanks!
