Issues with iPhoto Import

I tried to import a bunch of photos off of a DVD into iPhoto. I created an album in iPhoto, selected it, then dragged my "Pictures" folder from my DVD into the window. It imported all the pictures, but inside iPhoto they exist only as 360x270 resolution pics. I check the DVD and all the original-resolution pictures are there.

Why is iPhoto resizing these pics? Do I need to copy the pictures to the Mac first, then import them???

Use the "Import" function rather than dragging them. I think you will have much better results.

I have the same problem

I am trying to import pictures from my MacBook to my iMac (both Intel Core Duo). The pictures are resized, much smaller, and out of order.

I saw another thread about copying the whole MacBook library, but I don't want to do that ... just copy the pictures I'd taken out of town into my "main" iPhoto library.

Can anyone help?
