iMac is covered under Apple Care just want some advice before I book a genius bar appointment (local store is in a shopping centre so don't want to drag the massive box in to the store for them to say they can't do anything)!

Couple weeks ago I noticed a few times during startup/shutdown some graphical anomalies where a section of the screen would display a pink anomaly - doesn't happen all the time so I'm just wondering what would cause this?

Then tonight I've just noticed what I assume to be dead/stuck pixels (doesn't look like dirt). Seem to be concentrated on the righthand of the screen, counted 30+ which to me seems to be a lot? Doesn't seem to be an official listed policy for whats acceptable when it comes to the AppleCare policy for this so looking for advice/experience of others with the same issue and what the repair process is likely to be.

Looks like GPU is falling, you need logic board replacement.
I think you can sent the iMac to local Apple Store for repair but you need pay for postage.

It could be the display, the GPU, an internal cable... you won't find any sensible answers here: you need to take your iMac to an Apple Store so they can diagnose the issue and fix it for you.

You're from the UK, so please be aware your iMac is also covered under consumer rights law, not just the warranty Apple provides. If you bought your iMac after 1 October 2015, you can demand a replacement if the same issue occurs after the first repair. This right also applies to refurbished products sold by Apple.

Appreciate the reply - I've never had to take an Apple computer in for repair so this is all new for me. Have been waiting weeks to get an appointment at an Apple Store.
