Issues with latest TVOS 13 Beta

I installed the latest beta and I am having issues. First issue is that I am unable to put the apple tv to sleep by holding down the Tv button, the menu does not pop up anymore. This worked in all the previous betas

The other issue is that it duplicated my user profile. It now shows two user profiles for me.

Anybody else have these issues?

sleep option works fine here using TV button. For me i am not able to close any app by pressing TV button twice, it was working before the latest beta.

I have exactly the same issues (Can't put to sleep & two user profiles). I'm hoping will be fixed soon...

I installed the latest beta today and still have the issue where I can't get the option to put the device to sleep by holding down the TV button. Is this a bug or did they change the way to get to the fly out menu to put it to sleep? I am surprised this has been an issue for the last three betas

I have a issue that I haven't noticed on older betas that it turns off my TV when going to my ATV4K. I have it directly connected to one of my HDMI ports on my TV. When I choose that input then apple tv turns off my TV. Very annoying, only way to come around that is to reboot apple tv by unplugging the power and reconnect it.

This is the public beta 5. Let's hope the next one fixes this issue.

My ATV 4K always shows the splash screen that there's a new ATV app since beta 4 after sleeping. Really annoying because this keeps me from streaming stuff to the ATV when it's sleeping. First have to wake it with the remote, click "ok" on the splash screen and then I can start streaming.

Hope beta 6 gets rid of this...

Yes... I got that fixed by going to the whats new in the settings menu... After that I did not get that splash screen. Try that if it helps for you.

I have been experiencing audio dropouts of 2-3 seconds when using the Netflix app after the most recent beta update. They occur 4-5 times at the beginning of an episode, but then the episode completes without any more issues. I tested my network speed on the ATV 4K, and I am getting >200MBPs downloads. I was watching the current season of Glow, which is Dolby Digital.

I'm having "sync-up" drop outs and when set to 4K HDR it checks the TV with the drop out, check and reappear in 4K UHD HDR. Then a little later it'll drop to recheck. And the picture is flat and washed out. When I change to 4K SDR and always have Match Content: Range & Frame Rate turned on, the picture is beautiful. Cabling and everything else is as it was before the 13b. And now it seems to be over sensitive and not producing the incredible picture I was getting before. I did a cable check that come up fine, then it says there is a problem. I have try high hard core (really thick, stiff and certified cables and the same thing happens. Now even my TV will not set up the AppleTV as it has before with the Logo in the selection bar and sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get the two connected.

Audio wise, it's been OK once things are finally connected. I have it all running through my TV, have yet to go for a 4K AVR, and I have to go with whatever the TV deems appropriate and when working I get DD and DTS.

After the final is released, I'm no longer going to do Betas. I'll have to remove the Beta Profile. That's how deep I was.

The Netflix app is basically totally broken. It’ll play one episode then fail to load the next. Going in to the episodes list and pressing an episode gives absolutely zero response. Have to restart the whole unit just to play the next episode, then it works fine.

Can’t connect to the App Store to download apps, despite a blazing fast, Ethernet connection.

Sometimes the TV stops responding to the remote at all. The light on the box flashes, indicating it can detect input from the remote, but it does not respond to any buttons or inputs and has to be manually unplugged.

I really hope they can turn this around in the next month or so, because as it stands my Apple TV is so frustrating to use that it almost isn’t worth it, and I’ve never had that experience with an Apple product, beta software or no.

Yeah I'm seeing the exact same behaviour with my 4K unit as well...JUNK as it stands wish I had never installed the Beta tbh. Plex is also a nightmare. Same goes for using my HomePod speaker with the ATV. It plays for a while then drops the sound, then freezes the ATV which requires a full reboot to work. a $200+ device that is junk since its on the Beta.

Same problem with two duplicate profiles here. I’ve seen this mentioned on other forums, and reported it to Apple. They say to remove profiles in the Home app, but there’s only one there.

Has anyone fixed this themselves?

Go into the home app on any of your devices, select the home icon on the top left, got into yourself in people, then into “Show me on Apple TV” and deselect it for whatever boxes you are having issues with.
