Issues with .mov files

I have a retina MBP osx 10.9.2. Recently the following is going on:

Insert SD card from camera and copy .mov's over. Double click on them and it says the file could not be opened and could be damaged.

Click on the play icon to preview it as a thumbnail and it plays, but with no sound.

I can import them into iMovie and FCP but they import with no sound.

When I take the same SD card and put it in any of my other macs, the files work fine.

Any idears?

I don't think so. I never added any kind of plugin that I know of. Just the standard QT and let it update itself.

And the files open and play fine with sound in VLC.
