Hey guys, so I got my verizon iPhone 7 plus in black from the Apple store 5 days after launch. I love the phone however there are a handful of issues that keep happening and I don't know if this is normal or if I should try and get my phone swapped for a replacement.

1) At random times about once or twice a week, I will be using my phone and all of a sudden it will give me the spinning wheel thing like it's going to shut down. Instead, it closes whatever I had open and locks itself to make me type in my passcode/fingerprint again.

2) Every so often (1x a day max) my phone will freeze up when I'm using it and nothing I click will react to my touch, and even pressing the home button to get out of the app I'm in won't work, even though the vibration from clicking the home button still works. I literally have to force restart and then it'll be fine again.

3) Just yesterday I got a call on my phone and I couldn't answer it, I kept clicking the accept button however it did not register my press on the screen, so I missed the call and had to re-dial it.

What do you guys think I should do? :) thanks for your help in advance.

I just had this very thing happen today! It's only happened to be once though. JB 7+ 256

My wife had it happen to her Rose Gold iPhone 7 today. The vibration of the home button still worked but the home button did not perform an action. Ended up turning her phone off and it was fine. I told her to let me know if it continues to do it and if so I am going to contact Apple for a replacement.

The messages on IOS 10 is wonky and to Androidish looking. Not liking it. The messages also have this bloated appeal, where at least in iOS 9, it was Somewhat more discreet.

Agreed
[doublepost=1476245437][/doublepost]I think it was iOS 6...maybe iOS 7 that was my favorite. But it is getting very Androidish and busy lately. One thing I cannot STAND are the animations when going to/from the lock screen. We have two choices, a fade in/out blur or the other one (no name for it) that makes me dizzy just looking at it. Why can we not have instant on/off?

Cliff notes!!! Not reading all that lol

Bump what should I do?

Unfortunately, your phone is fine... this is Tims Apple where features>implementation. My phone does the EXACT same things as yours. I've had the camera app cause a springboard crash several times. Hopefully future updates will increase performance on the "fastest" phone on the planet.

I'm experiencing the first two issues as well on my 256 JB + (not that the colour matters). I think there was another thread about the first issue apparently being fixed in the next update.

Why not? People return these things for being the wrong color. If the OP can show them it is not working they should exchange.

The problem is, most of his issues are software related... has nothing to do with a "defective device." AKA ****** software optimization by Apple.

I haven't heard of those issues in the masses, so my knee jerk would be to return it. I personally do not expect an iPhone to behave the way you explained... Android, that's exactly the nuances I experienced, and opted to leave.

What's that have to do with anything? I have two 7 pluses, one on 10.02 and one on 10.1b3 all the same

Are you serious? For software related issues, it normally helps to know what version of the software someone is running to rule things out....

By your logic, iOS 10 is the same as iOS 1.0.

Not to mention, what he describes, I definitely experienced on 10.0.1, the version the phone shipped with. So, he could try updating to the lastest software if he is in fact on 10.0.1

Your number 1 issue I've had happen a good dozen or so times since I got the phone. Mine is a 7 Plus 128. Just yesterday I was taking a bunch of pictures at work with my phone and it started the spinning wheel like it was shutting down (had 70% battery left).
