Hello guy,

I started having issues with my iphone 7. Out of nowhere:
  • I cannot get sound out of the headphone, the sound works but only out of the speaker for music or playing other audios
  • Cannot hear anyone during a call from anywhere, either speaker or headphones and no one can hear me. Even a call from whatsapp does not work.
  • After a little while I get Call Failure as well.
  • I also cannot record audio on whatsapp or messanger, or facebook messenger for example
  • After restart, sometimes the WIFI is greyed out, I cannot turn on Wifi. Need to power off for a little and try again.
This is super weird

Any help?

Obvious loop disease candidate. But the Wi-Fi issue sounds like there are bigger problems.

Yeah. My phone does seems to be having this loop issue. It’s having all kinds of issues. Something new i noticed when in camera app the shutter button does not work right way I need to press a few times in order to take a photo.. it seems to be frozen. I read this loop issue can cause all types of other functional issues with the phone.

I can only talk on the phone or record audio if I have a bluetooth headset, then I can make phone calls and all..

Is the speakerphone button greyed out during a call?

Now it's not, but I can't hear anyone and no one can hear and a few seconds after I get a call failure

The only way I can make a call and communicate back and forth is using a Bluetooth device, then I can make calls, record voice messages and all.

I'm wondering if I go a system reset would fix it, however this seems to be hardware related.

This is board level problem but I can’t make a connection between the described issues.

I don’t know how not being able to hear and speak leads to call failure, while Bluetooth headset works. I also don’t know how is the WiFi problem related.

Loop disease, AKA audio IC issue has symptoms of greyed out speakerphone button, below iOS 13: no audio device found error on voice memo, above iOS 13: no response when tapping record button on voice memo, incredibly slow boot up of the phone, phone does not boot at all.

The WiFi problem and the call failure is not related to the audio IC.

It is either a multiple source problem or software based (doubt it, but can try a restore)

If a phone like this would come in for repair I’d reflow audio IC first and start from there…

Really hard to pinpoint this without testing.

Yes, it is weird. It does not make much sense. However the wifi issue seems to have resolved on its own.

im going to try a full reset but i doubt it will fix the problem..
