Issues with Word 2008 SP1 - Application Wont Open

I recently installed SP1 for my Office 2008 install and now the application wont open. When I try to open it (anything- Word, Excel, a document, etc), the Microsoft Setup Assistant comes up, I go through the motions, click "Finish", then Microsoft AutoUpdater comes up and I check for updates, there are none, I close it and nothing happens. So I go ahead and try again and again with the same results. I even tried deleting the Setup Assistant, but this doesn't solve anything. Any suggestions? Anybody else having this problem? 😕 Thanks!!

Move the following files to the Trash:

/Users/username/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2008/Microsoft Office 2008 settings.plist

/Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Office/OfficePID.plist
