Above the 3,4,5 keys of the keyboard, its almost too hot too touch. It's using 3.99 GB of my 4GB of memory just sitting there doing nothing. Preview crashes on any pdf above 100mb.

Rather disappointed and afraid my MacBook is going to blow up.
 
maybe spotlight is indexing... or fix permission. or do a PRAM, SMC reset

if all failed do a backup and do a clean install
