Ok so this is the issue. I've always used istat menus to monitor my computer usage i.e. RAM, CPU, Fans, power, etc. With my old 2008 Mac Pro istat used to display how much power it was using however with my 2009 Mac Pro it doesn't. It displays 0 Watts throughout. Any ideas on how to solve this. I'm really curious with regard to how much power this system uses. 🙂

I've also had some issues with iStat Menus on my 2009 Pro.

Although I had the newest version installed, it did not work.
I endet up deleting iStat and reinstalling it.
Works fine now.

I have the same machine, works fine. Check under Sensors panel/Dropdown Sensors/scroll to Power Sensors (Watts). Verify you have these boxes checked.

Thanks Transporteur. Reinstalling it worked like a charm. 😀 System power is at 164 Watts at the moment lol 😀

The only reason I could think of is that the 1.1 Pro does not have a power sensor.

Anyway, I don't believe that the value iStat menus displays is accurate.

I dunno. Hardware Monitor says I do. <Shrug>
