istat ony sees 2.73 gb ram out of 3.0gb...why?

If I add up the wired, active, inactive and free ram figures from istat in my 2.4ghz aluminum macbook, it only comes up to be 2.73gb, I replaced a 1gb module for a 2gb that I bought from crucial about 1 week ago. I've restarted the computer with no success.

Any ideas?

2.05 gb Free
177.70 mb Wired
465.40 mb Active
60.24 mb Inactive
703.43 mb Used

Thanks. I was wondering why my new computer with 4 GB of RAM was showing up as 3.7 GB as well. Now I know.
