It feels sooooo new!

Well last night my 3g gave up the ghost and crawled to a halt again so I though enough is enough I'm sick of all the lockups with 3.1 that mad me roll bk to 3.01 so rather than restore from backup I bit the bullet and wiped the bugger and did a fresh install. Used MobileMe to sync mail and contacts iTunes to replace apps and music.

Well I have to say 3.1 is now working like a dream. My usual 6 hours before battery warning has been resolved. I'm now in my 8th hour and still sitting on 50% which is great. Another thing I noticed was my 'other' was reduced from 1.07gb to 120mb ish.

All in all I'm a happy bunny. Back on 3.1 with no lockups at all.

I should add that I have fetch turned to manual as I use mobile me. All my push emails are forwarded to my me accound so I don't need to use fetch.

This may account for part of my increased battery life.

I think even 8 hours and at 50 percent is pretty bad. I usually have location services and 3G off to save battery when I'm not using them. I have gotten up to two days standby with around 3-4 hours usage by doing this.
