Ahh, man! I'm so jealous! I would love to have a hot, balmy 50 degree day.

I always have cold feet in the winter. I think I'd do well in a tropical/warm area. Maybe San Diego??

(yes that is 16ºF with a low of -1º tonight)

i hate the cold.

If I had Dashboard (still running Panther) I'd show you the temperature here right now - we're at the high for today, and it's a balmy -26 degrees fahrenheit. Last night, with the wind, it got down to a crisp -63 degrees fahrenheit.

Feel better now?

Yeah, we had the warmest January in 100 years here, so now it seems like we're making up for it in February. ;)

But, we get 100-120 degrees fahrenheit in the summer as well, to it all evens out, right? :p :D

I'm stuck in a hotel in Denver. It's friggin' brutal here.

Also not quite as cold as Shard, but at these temperatures, you really can't feel the difference.

I don't know if it causes it, but it at least contributes to it.

Yeah, I know how you feel - it's scary though, you do become acclimatized to it after a while... plus, when it gets really cold, it's always a good excuse for snuggling and keeping warm with your partner...

It is freeeeezing outside...for Texas anyway. since yesterday it was about 80.

It should start sleeting in the next hour or so. Then you will get to see all of the TX SUV's flipped over in the ditches.

/Rant, Texans are very nice, but can't drive to save their life.

yeah, we have a freezing rain advisary too...where are you, mate?

You are right about the drivers, especially considering that ice/sleet is not a regular driving condition for Texas. I expect alot of fender-benders (I hope that's all). About 40 right now...

I, being from Cali, have only experienced about 30° F. How much colder is 0° or -20°F? Is it hard to breathe? Where do you feel it most? How do the homeless cope?

Why is it when we get cold weather that t doesnt rain?

because the winter is also known as the "dry season" because with the cooler air there is less humidity and thus less mostiure in the air.
well thats a simplified answer.... i'm not a meteorologist so i suppose i can't go into to great detail without messing up along the way

once you get past 0ºF its just cold. i mean it. at that point you don't bother noticing how much it varies from a few degrees here and there.

the homeless hopefully go to shelters, many suffer frostbite. but a good deal know where to find warm, shelter from wind, and know how to layer themselves appropriately. (ie, newspapers are a great insulation)

Its cold. The lowest i've been in has been 20° F (+wind chill factor so Im assuming around 10° F) and let me tell you: Its cold. I was filming a music video in Utah and I couldn't control the camera with gloves on. My hands lost all feeling within five minutes. The same goes for the parts of my face that weren't covered by my outrageously furry russian hat. Later we had to stop to clear ice off the windshield and I poured water on the ice while the wiper blades were moving... froze so fast it got the wipers stuck. I guess next time I'll brig a scraper! :D
