Anymore clues in this error message that could let me know what is causing this problem? Hardware or Software?

    Thanks

Looks like it's GPU related to me. Were you having the problem in Mavericks or is this isolated to the Yosemite DP/Beta?

Send the feedback and log to Apple.

They have even made it easy through the Yosemite beta to do this.

Your're running a beta OS, send a bug report to apple, or downgrade back to the released version of OS X.

    Betas tend to have bugs.

I believe it happened once or twice in mavericks and mountain lion, but its been much more frequent in Yosemite.

I brought it to the Apple store and they ran a hardware test and found no issues. However they offered to keep it for 24 hours and do a more thorough diagnostic. I said no at the time, but if it keeps happening I will go for it.

This is a known issue with the 330m and graphics switching. It is hardware related. Calling AppleCare and sending them a log that looks very much like that one was enough for them to repair mine at no charge out of warranty. That said, I'd roll back to Mavericks as they're not going to do any hardware repair without first ruling out software.

Will they do this in an Apple store?

I think you'd have better luck calling.

Did they just repair your 2010 model, or replace it? I'm curious because I still have my 2010 kicking around, and I might consider trying to get it fixed.

Repaired. The battery was shot, and they replaced that too. No charge for any of it.

I was going to sell it for parts but it wound up making an excellent replacement for my wife's 2006 MBP.

How many years out of warranty was it that they replaced the battery and the GPU? I bought mine in Mid 2010 so it's been over four years.

Give them a call, they had a program that they'd replace the logic boards of the 2010 MBPs. I'm not sure if that ended or not.

Update: MacBook Pro is now at Apple for a 24 hour diagnostic. I will keep you updated.

UPDATE: Apple found no hardware issues while doing their overnight diagnostic. They wiped the computer and restored to a fresh Mavericks installation. I guess thats good news that I have no hardware issues, kind of wishing they would have replaced the logic board. Will see if the system restore helps. It probably was just a Yosemite beta bug.

If it happens again, well back to the Apple store.

I had same GPUPanic in my Mid 2012 retina. I fixed by opening it and cleaning all the dust that was clogging the inside of my macbook pro...
