It is safe to delete .AppleDouble folders from NAS?

Hi,
I'm migrating .sparsebundle folders from one TimeMachine NAS(Iomega) to another(Buffalo).

When I run the copy job, I get error saying it can not copy folders named .AppleDouble

The images/folders .sparsebundle are not in use during the copy operation. So my question is if it ok to ignore the .AppleDouble folders or if I should copy them.
