I really want the 12.9 IPad . I know Apple will launch new iPads in march . Currently I have an IPad Air 2 . Almost 2 years old . I will have a opportunity to upgrade to the 12.9 IPad early next year ( late February - beginning of March ). So here is the question : Should I buy the 12.9 IPad Pro next year or should I wait until March ?

If the march release don't happen I will have 2 options
1 stay with my Air 2
2- get the Pro and stay at least 2 years with it

But, it is worth to buy an iPad Pro first gen in 2017? Or it's better to keep my Air 2?

Considering by march it'll have been a year and a half since the launch of the large Pro, I'd wait. They have a lot to add that the 9.7 pro has. True tone screen, faster processor, better cameras.

It's only 3 months away. I'd wait for sure

There are rumors that the next iPad will be radically changed and become all screen. Might be worth the wait.

I will be upgrading in march 2017. Or the first gen or the second .
If Apple releases an new iPad , I will buy the new iPad
If Apple don't release , I will buy the first gen iPad Pro .

If they do release a new 12.9 I hope they open up a lot of new features for my legacy 12.9. It feels like it's capable of so much more.
It IS capable of so much more. Except for some extremely "Pro" uses (editing 4K video, working with RAW images) the current Pro has easily handled everything that I've thrown at it without breaking a sweat.

It doesn't need 6GB RAM. It doesn't need OSX. It doesn't need TrueTone. It needs an iOS update that is more than a bunch of emoji packs thrown in. The good news is that THAT doesn't require a hardware upgrade.

If Apple wants to sell more iPads, then they should update iOS enough to entice people to go out and buy a new iPad Pro.

Agreed. I like my iPad pro a lot but I need it to be more than a 12.9 inch iPhone.
