iToner, the Mac app that allows you to sync your custom ringtones, has been updated to 1.0.8.

this update brings iTunes 7.7 and iPhone 2.0 support. it also brings Japanese localization.

Pfft, 3rd-party support before the damned things are even released. Nice :p

What's the advantage to using this over using Garage Band to make a ring tone?

    • Longer than 40 second ringtones
    • Use MP3s instead of just M4A renamed to M4R
    • Ambrosia gets to make money ;)

*I have never used Garageband, I use Audacity, and I EQ mine to cut off <100hz and normalize at -3.0db, then export as m4a, rename to m4r and import to iTunes. I get very nice results this way. Much louder, no distortion.

Not sure, but maybe it is for PC users or anyone without Garage Band.

I am using Garage Band, i have 20 ringtones made so far.

Probably none, Garageband rules for ringtones

I have to say I really like these people. They have continued to update this software even after it's usefulness has passed. If I were part of the every decreasing group of people who don't have Garage Band I would certainly appreciate this companies loyalty to maintaining this product.
