As far as I know, there working on a jailbreak for the MC model of touch but it's not out yet 🙁

Not true. You can use this guide to perform a tethered JB for 4.0 (you have to rejailbreak everytime you reboot. One click no biggie) using sn0wbreeze 1.7

I have an 8gb MC model ipod touch running 4.0 jailbroken right now using this guide above.
