Itrip for Ipod 5.5 problem

Hi!

I have a ipod 5.5 for a few years now, and always used an itrip with it and always perfect....

My sister recently bought a 2nd hand ipod 5.5 too, but when she connects my itrip to her ipod it doesn't work. she can charge the ipod with the itrip, but when she puts music to play and connects the itrip it does not starts, no light, no numbers, no nothing.....

can anyone tell me why??

Did she press play on the iPod? That's the problem my dad had with his iTrip. The iPod only supplies power to the iTrip if a song is playing.

I did everything i usually do on mine, bur theres nothing on the itrip screen!
