I don't know, when I first bought my iPad I though I wouldn't get one with a screen problem but I did... 6 times in a row. And they were all noticeable, not subtle at all. How can this be? I'm POSITIVE there are many out there that 1) have gone through this exactly experience as I have or 2) are not informed of it and haven't noticed it. I hope people know about this so they can get their money's worth.

Did anybody get lucky on the first one? I thought Apple makes perfection.

Uh, yes. Essentially everyone got 'lucky' on their first one...if you can call the vast vast vast vast majority of people having no problems with their devices 'luck'.

Nobody has had any problems with their screen outside of a handful of forum posters out of the millions stacked upon millions of iPads sold. There have been no screen issues big enough to be reported or commented on by the normally rabid tech press (unlike the battery charging or heat 'issues'). Just google 'iPad 3 screen problem' and watch as literally zero tech sites have any reporting on it, and the only mentions are in forum posts for the most part.

People don't come to forums to check in and note how each aspect and feature of their device is in good working order. They come when there is a problem, disproportionately. You don't get people like me starting threads that say "Hey guys, myself, and the 5 people I know that got the new iPad and have discovered that the volume rocker is snappy and responsive! Also, the Home Button offers a nice amount of resistance when clicked, and the screen was free from problems! For all of us!" even though this was the case in real life.

There just are not any meaningful amount of problems with iPad screens compared to the number of iPads out there.

All of these type threads make me glad that I did not upgrade. If they're truly as defective as some make them out to be, I'll wait until week 52 builds to upgrade. Seems like Apple is using shoddy screens from Samsung or the assembly process at Foxconn leaves a lot to be desired.

Dude, there are no problems. You can't even google 'Ipad 3 screen tint, or screen problems' and find a single tech site documenting any problems. Literally the entire first page of google returns forum sites. I'm not saying there are not a few out of the millions and millions that have issues, but you're listening to squeaky wheels. If you are holding off on buying one because you think there is a good chance you will get a screen with an issue of some sort, then you might as well stop and buy a lottery ticket on the way home too since you're betting on outside odds. Basing it off that would be just as silly as basing it off my experience where myself and 5 other people I know bought them and realized that it is the best screen that has ever been offered on a mobile device. Don't go on anecdotes. Just go on actual reporting of statistically significant issues. If that isn't there (it isn't), then just get one if you want it, and return it if you don't want it.

and yet there are threads on all major apple related forums with hundreds of thousands views and replies with tons of picture evidence of faulty screens provided and the owners of the so called "perfect" screens who call people names failed to provide any photographic proof.

yeah, dude, there are no problems.

Yes, because forums are a foolproof way to even gauge that.

This is my 7th 3rd gen iPad and I've finally found one that's perfect. The previous iPads all had green/pink hue issues and this one has none of that! I found that this one has the worst backlight amongst the previous 6 but that's something that I've already forgotten about. This post is to show everyone my delight on finding a beautiful iPad and to tell those who are in my position a few days ago to not give up! I'm ready to move on from this frustrating experience and enjoy the new iPad. :)
That's not perfect. You clearly said it has the worst backlight bleed issue compare to your previous 6.

Now go play some widescreen movies in dark rooms. Heck, go outside in the porch at night with the light turned off and watch movie.

Have fun.

Get on google. In the search box: (you need to include quotation marks as exactly show below)

Type "ipad 3 light bleed"
Type "ipad 3 backlight bleed"
Type "ipad 3 tint"
Type "ipad 3 yellow tint"
Type "ipad 3 pink tint"
Type "ipad 3 green tint"
Type "ipad 3" "dried spit" and "snot"
Type "ipad 3 rainbow tints"
Type "ipad 3 dull screen"
Type "ipad 3" "blurry screen"
Type "ipad 3" "LED light exposure"
Type "ipad 3" "uneven whites"
Type "ipad 3" "uneven tints"

The list goes on and on and on and on. The results will return with hundreds of lists regarding these issues.

You must be new.

I am thinking about reporting the issues to local news broadcast stations.

I must have lucked out. Mine was a pre-order, and I haven't had a problem. Glad I haven't experienced any of the complaints I've been hearing.
