I'm not an apple fanboy and i have notthing against microsoft but...
did you use Windows mobile when it was released or a year later for that matter. It SUCKED. Case and point.
How is the Xbox 360 a screw up? It sold 20 MILLION units. Please explain. If anything, your post is a fail.
BTW, what is so wrong with Vista anyway???? It works every bit as good as all my Windows XP based systems?.
The whole Apple vs. Microsoft argument really comes down to one thing...
Apple TELLS you what you want in their products (case and point 3G iPhone)
Microsoft lets you do whatever with their products
I'm neither a fanboy of Apple or Microsoft. I don't buy based on what company I like better, only on what product suits me best.
That's the main problem I see with Vista, it works as well as XP, but not much better. The only reason I'm on Mac now is that after 15 years of Windows I was determined to find something better. I switched to Mac, and I'll never go back. ( Well, maybe, if MS get their act together with Windows 7. )

I don't see what the big deal is with Mac unless you're a professional photographer or something like that. My friend has a Mac and I have Vista and he doesn't do anything on his Mac that I can't just as easily do on Windows. To the average Joe Mac OSX = Vista. It's just personal preference.
(I'm so ready to get flamed for this post 🙂)

My other Ipod rant is that you can't simply hook up an Ipod and copy files over as if it were a hard drive. Both my 6 year old RCA Lyra and my 1 year old 6GB Philips BOTH allow that. Apple makes you have to use Itunes.
there has been no bigger screw up than vista and the xbox 360
mobile me and 2.0 bugs are very temporary, as for 3G problems, they seem to be very isolated
We don't care about the units. We care about the reported 60% failure rate in the form of the Red Ring of Death.
Microsoft vs Apple
Lets see here, I have had a Vista based laptop since September. I have never had to restore it.
I have had an Iphone 3G for two weeks that has had to be restored 3 times now.
Point 1 for Microsoft
Windows allows third party developers to do as they please.
Apple says - only if we allow it.
Point 1 for Microsoft
Internet Explorer (I am talking Windows mobile) loads Flash based websites
Safari doesn't
Point 1 for Microsoft
Microsoft can play Divx, Xvid, AVI, MP4, Quicktime
Apple only Quicktime
Point 1 for Microsoft
Windows mobile comes with pocket Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Apple - we can read only
Point 1 for Microsoft
So far its 5 points Microsoft, 0 for Apple.

Granted I love my Iphone, but it does have its limitations. The video codec thing is my biggest peeve. Its a video Ipod!!!! Allow the most common video codecs. I know there is one being created for jailbroken Iphones which brings up another point you SHOULDN'T have to jailbreak to do common things. Even the Iphone doesn't include themes - whats up with that????? Oh thats right, Apple products are always boring looking. Itunes, Quicktime, Safari. If I could I would bypass Itunes and use Rhapsody anyday.
Sorry to rant, but I hate these people that thing Apple is the best thing out there. It still doesn't come close to being the market leader.

Ever visit Apple's iPhone support forums?

some people living in a fish tank and apparently very happy.
Well, my "fish tank" hasn't crashed ever, finds the WiFi every time, hooks up to any printer I find,(without downloading drivers), in fact hooks up to anything I've ever attached it to, and runs any software I need. So yeah, I'm much happier in the "fish tank" than I was running along with the rest of the lemmings.
To each their own. IMO, windows is generally cludgy and clutzy to deal with. Simple tasks are much more difficult and complicated than they need to be. Maybe that doesn't bother you, but I find Windows an unpleasant experience at best. And that's not even touching on the stability issues Windows has.

i cant say the same for me
What simple task is much more difficult and complicated to do on Vista than it is on Mac OSX?
I didn't have to DL a single driver with my update to Vista. There was a sound driver that wasn't compatible from XP but the Vista install disc had a driver for my sound card anyways. My friend routinely has issues finding our college's wireless network while my pc is always good to go. I'm not saying Macs suck or anything, I think they're just fine. But trashing Vista just cuz you like Mac OSX is pretty crazy.
